Five Mindfulness Trainings Application

The Community of Mindful Living at UUFR (Raleigh) warmly invites you to:
The Path of Peaceful Living: A Day of Mindfulness
Saturday, March 7, 2026, 9am – 4:30pm
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh, Founders Hall
3313 Wade Ave., Raleigh, NC  27607
Directions:  https://uufr.org/welcome/contact-us/

On this day of mindfulness, we will come together to walk the path of the Five Mindfulness Trainings, a living expression of Buddhist ethics as offered by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

The Five Mindfulness Trainings are not rules to follow, but practices to live by. They guide us in protecting life, practicing deep listening and loving speech, cultivating generosity, nurturing responsible relationships, and engaging in mindful consumption. Practiced in daily life, they support healing, understanding, and compassion within ourselves, our communities, and the world.

Our day will include sitting meditation, walking meditation, Dharma sharing, and teachings on the Five Mindfulness Trainings. At the end of the day, there will be an opportunity for those who wish to receive the transmission of the Five Mindfulness Trainings in a formal ceremony. Receiving the trainings is a heartfelt commitment to mindful living, and those who receive them will be offered a Dharma name to support their practice. If you are interested in receiving the trainings, you can find the application here. Please email your completed application to Todd Fields no later than Feb. 27. Also feel free to reach out to Todd with questions: toddfields13@gmail.com.
